Tourists traveling to Scotland from Spain will have to continue to quarantine, Nicola Sturgeon said as she rejected some countries on the U.K. Government's list of air bridges.

Speaking at her daily briefing on the virus, the Scottish First Minister said the 14-day quarantine restriction will be lifted on July 10 for people returning or visiting from 39 countries with a low prevalence of COVID-19, including Germany, Norway and Malta.

Other countries which have a lower or not significantly higher prevalence of the virus than Scotland – including France, Greece, the Netherlands, Italy and Poland – will also be included on the list.

But she said the restriction will not be lifted for Spain or Serbia.

Vietnam: Runway repairs cause flight delays at Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City airports

Vietnam: Runway repairs cause flight delays at Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City airports | Travel Advisory | Scoop.it
With runways at Hanoi's Noi Bai airport and HCMC's Tan Son Nhat closed for upgrade, many flights have fallen behind schedule.

Both Noi Bai International Airport and Tan Son Nhat International Airport had shut down one runway each starting this month as part of a major runway and taxiway upgrade overseen by the Ministry of Transport.

According to carriers, schedules started lagging as soon as the two runways were shut down.

A representative from Vietnam Airlines said many of its flights have been delayed at both Noi Bai and Tan Son Nhat, impacting operations at other airports.

The on-time performance rating for Vietnam Airlines generally hits over 90 percent, but for the past week it has dropped to between 56-88 percent.

Bamboo Airways said it has adjusted departure times for tens of flights a day due to the runway closure and canceled several along its HCMC-Da Nang and HCMC-Phu Quoc routes.

Vietjet Air, in turn, stated its planes too had to queue up for departure since the runway upgrade commenced during a peak travel time.

The airline suggested both airports shorten the distance between every two planes about to land from five to three miles. This would allow each to touch down faster and as a result, shortening the waiting time for those that need to use the runway for takeoff, it said.

Nigeria: Update: Domestic flights resume as COVID-19 restrictions ease

Nigeria: Update: Domestic flights resume as COVID-19 restrictions ease | Travel Advisory | Scoop.it
ABUJA, July 8 (Reuters) - Nigeria resumed domestic flights on Wednesday after a hiatus of around three months as Africa's most populous country relaxes restrictions aimed at curbing the spread of the new coronavirus.

The airports for the capital, Abuja, and commercial hub Lagos reopened for flights. A handful of other airports will open on July 11 and the remainder of airports will resume flights on July 15.

The resumption of flights is the latest step by the government to reopen Africa's biggest economy, which has also been hit hard by low oil prices. In recent weeks it has lifted a ban on interstate travel, allowed some pupils to return to school and permitted places of worship to open.

A Reuters witness said passengers waiting to enter the airport in the capital, Abuja, used markings on the floor to observe social distancing and some used newly installed handwashing facilities outside the building. Only a relatively small number of people were waiting to travel.

Other safety measures in place included airport workers taking the temperature of passengers and spraying bags with decontamination fluids.

"We are not out to punish anybody. We are interested in their wellbeing that is why we have put all of these things in place, and so we expect them to please abide by all of these procedures," said Henrietta Yakubu, a spokeswoman for the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, on Tuesday as authorities prepared for flights to restart.

No date has been given for the resumption of international flights.

Location: Ukraine

Event: Updated Entry and Exit Requirements

(NEW) The Ukrainian government has launched Visit Ukraine Today, a new platform that provides information on the entry and exit requirements for foreign travelers who plan to visit Ukraine. The website contains information regarding observation and self-isolation requirements, medical insurance requirements and options, and specific instructions on how to take a COVID-19 PCR test and submit the results through the "Dii vdoma" mobile application to end the self-isolation requirement.

(NEW) Currently, the Ministry of Health considers the United States a "Red Zone" country with a high incidence of COVID-19. Visit Ukraine Today provides instructions for foreigners arriving from "Red Zone" countries who cross the border of Ukraine on how to install the "Dii vdoma" application upon arrival and select one of following options:

1. Observation in specialized locations.

2. 14 days self-isolation at a private residence.

3. Taking a PCR COVID-19 test after crossing the state border.

U.S. citizens entering Ukraine will be required to select one of these options as long as the Ministry of Health considers the United States a country with high incidence of COVID-19.
