“It’s changed,” said Denise Jackson, president and CEO of San Diego, California-headquartered Balboa Travel Management, and chair of ASTA’s Corporate Advocacy Committee, referring to the trade association’s transition. “The leadership has changed, and I think that has made a significant difference. It’s easy to confuse travel insurance with travel medical insurance, but they are two very different things. Most travelers are aware of travel insurance, but believe it to be something you would buy only if you were nervous about your trip being cancelled or your luggage going astray.
